Chillicothe, OH — (March 27, 2014) — Atomic Speedway off Blaine Highway between Waverly and Chillicothe will honor all Emergency EMS Responders, Firefighters, and Police Officers this Saturday, March 29. With identification or uniform each responder will be admitted for just $5. Early start times that show racing at 4 p.m. will kick off the race card of 410 Sprints, Late Models, Modifieds, and Street Stocks.
“We think it is important to honor those who put their lives on the line for us each and every day,” said owner/promoter Brad McCown.”We wanted to host this night in honor of the fine men and women who devote their lives to keeping us safe. They are an important part of the American tradition.”
Gates open at 2 p.m., pit gates open at noon, with hot laps at 4 p.m. Owner/promoter Brad McCown has waived the track registration fee, however, drivers should print off the sheet and fill it out prior to Saturday’s racing to save time signing in. *See AMRA note at bottom
General Admission is $12 for adults with the reduced price for EMS/FD/PD responders; kids 12 and-under-free, $30 pits and $15 Pit Pass for children 12-and-under.
Atomic opened last week to a large crowd, a great field of cars, and an early completion time despite the cold weather conditions. Dollar Dog night featuring $1 hot dogs will help honor families and friends of Atomic Speedway on April 5, 2014. In the case of inclement weather this weekend EMS/FD/PD Night and all discounted pricing will be in effect the following week April 5th.
The top five payout in the sprints is $2,000 to win, $1,000, $800, $600, $500, $450, $250 for 10th and $200 to start. Late Models are $1500 to win, $900, $750, $600, $500, $200 for tenth and $175 to start. Modifieds pay $750 to win and $120 to start.
Several divisional sponsors have come on board at Atomic this season. Atomic Speedway welcomes these sponsors, who have stepped to the plate to make each division even better. Pine Tree Towing and Recovery has signed on as the sponsor of the 410 Sprint Cars, Gullion Enterprises LLC has become the official sponsor of the AMRA Atomic Late Models, Advanced Services continues as the Modifieds sponsor, and C-M Racing Equipment has taken on the name role of the Sport Mods. Hummel’s Factory Kahne Shocks from Indianapolis will be the 2014 Sprint Car HARD CHARGER sponsor.
Atomic Speedway has signed a Hoosier Tire deal which means, “Hoosier Tires in all classes!” All Star tire rules will apply for Sprints Cars, Late Models must run a 1300 or harder compound, the AMRA tire rules apply for Modifieds, and Street Stocks and Sport Mods have until June 1 to burn off tires other than Hoosier. All Street Stocks and Sport Mods must run Hoosier tires after June 1. NO BURN OFF for other divisions—Hoosier Only!
Now thru the end of March fans can save $10 on each General Admission and Pit Admission on the 3-day ticket for BOTH the May 8-10 NDRL “Atomic Blast” and the “Oct 23-25 Open Wheel Championships”. *Although the first official AMRA race will not take place until the first week of April, drivers can purchase an AMRA License at the track Saturday for $75. Drivers do not have to have the AMRA license until the weekend of April 5. Late Model and Modified drivers can save $10 and purchase a license online at the AMRA Website www.amramodified.com for $65 through March 31.
