Ardmore, OK — (April 6, 2014) — With 28 potent sprint cars on hand, the 2014 season opener for the Oil
Capital Racing Series at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore,
Oklahoma was called off due to rain. OCRS sprint cars did take to the
track for 3 heats however, with just a few laps completed in the
fourth and final heat race, the skies opened up and after several
minuets of steady rain, the event was called off. Stay tuned for
possible updates on the rescheduling this event. OCRS and SOS entered
the 2014 racing season with a previously set second date, that being
on August 23rd.
The 13th annual season opener for the OCRS sprint cars will now
commence at the brand new Longdale Speedway in Longdale Oklahoma this
Saturday night, April 12th. Visit the tracks website at:
www.longdalespeedway.com for general information. This will not only
be the maiden voyage for OCRS at Longdale Speedway, but it will be for
the track as well as Longdale Speedway will be hosting sprint cars for
their first time. The schedule for the Longdale Speedway event on
April 12th is:
3pm: Gates Open
5pm: OCRS Drivers Meeting
5:30pm: Hot Laps
6pm: Racing begins
