Shaking some early season gremlins out, after weeks at horrible luck, Andy Forsberg and his F&F Racing team visited victory lane on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway, as Forsberg picked up his first ever Placerville Civil War win with his F&F Racing team.

“I cannot believe the season we have had to start the year out, and to come out here with the Civil War and have a great night and win, and win our first Civil War race at our home track together is special,” a jubilant Forsberg said.

With extra incentives on the line for the event, Forsberg cashed in, as he pocketed the $500 bonus from Thompson’s Toyota as he set quick time aboard his Lucas Oil/Pit Stop USA/RPI No. X1 machine.

Finishing third in his heat race, the Auburn, CA driver pulled the six pill in the Dash draw, putting him in the third row for the six-lap Dash that set the first four rows of the feature event.

Fighting forward to a fourth place finish, Forsberg gained a row for the 30-lap feature event, and when the green lights flashed, Forsberg instantly began working on the top of the speedway, as he pounded the Placerville cushion.

Muscling his way past Greg DeCaires, Forsberg took over the third spot as he chased after the lead duo of Andy Gregg and Steven Tiner until the yellow flew on the 12th lap.

A red waived on the restart, so the cars were put into single file formation, and when the green dropped, Forsberg was able to sail into the second spot, as he chased after his Placerville rival, Gregg, aboard the well prepared A.R.T./CRV/Willwood backed machine.

The 20th lap bunched the field back up, and Forsberg got the best of Gregg, and took the lead, and quickly began distancing himself from the field, as he worked the slicked off speedway to perfection.

With a yellow coming out with just two-laps to go, Forsberg did not let it phase him, as he picked up the second win of the 2014 for the F&F Racing team.

“The track was slick and slow, not my cup of team, but my guys had this thing perfect so a guy like me could look good,” he said with a smile. “I was waiting for something to go wrong with the luck we have been having, but I am just so excited for everyone involved.”

F&F Racing would like to thank Lucas Oil, Pit Stop USA, HRP, CRV, Inventory Sales, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Wilwood, and Kaizer Wheels, K&N, Roseville Precision, Autism Speaks, FK Rod Ends, and PT Shocks for their support in 2014.
