Ohsweken, ON — (June 10, 2014) — Ohsweken Speedway’s 19th season of racing continues this Friday, June 13, when Six Nations Bingo presents weekly racing featuring the Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Cars, Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars, Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stocks, HRW Automotive Mini Stocks, and Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Bombers.
CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING 360 SPRINT CARS
The 360 Sprint Car standings tightened up after last Friday’s feature win by Jessica Zemken, as just 8 points separate the top four drivers. Mikey Kruchka leads the way, with opening night winner Glenn Styres 7 points behind, followed by Jim Huppunen and Mitch Brown, who are both just 1 point behind Styres. May 30 feature winner Chris Steele rounds out the top five.
STRICKLAND’S GMC CRATE SPRINT CARS
The Crate Sprint Car championship standings mirror last Friday’s photo finish between Jake Brown and Ryan Hunsinger, as Brown leads Hunsinger by just one point heading into this Friday’s event. Brad Herron, Robbie General, and Tyler Hendricks round out the current top five.
AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS
Lee Winger won the Thunder Stock championship last season, and has taken over atop the championship points standings again after his first feature win of 2014 last Friday. Opening night winner Wyatt Van Wart is now second in the standings, followed by Rookie of the Year standings leader Chase Hess, Billy Bleich, Jr., and Jim Lampman.
HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS
Tyler Lafantaisie is enjoying weekly racing at Ohsweken so far. An occasional visitor in past seasons, Lafantaisie has competed in all three rounds of the 2014 season, recording a 2nd place finish on opening night, and following that with feature wins in each of the last two weeks. Team 66 (Jon Janssens and Brandon Janssens) is currently second in the standings, followed by Team 79 (Steve Miller and Dan Miller), Rookie of the Year standings leader Mark Bazuin, and Jason Lungaro.
GALE’S AUTO AFTERMARKET BOMBERS
2013 champion Dusty DeBoer went to Mobil 1 Victory Lane for the first time this season last Friday. That win and runner-up finishes in each of the first two weeks has DeBoer on top of the Bomber championship points standings. He’s being chased by May 30 winner Gillian Hils, and May 23 winner Joe DeBoer, while Ashton Reekie and Paul Longboat also have spots in the top five.
