Dodge City, KS — (June 25, 2014) — It’s just over one week away. It’s the best kind of fireworks, as the World of Outlaws Sprint Car series makes its annual stop at the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval for the Boothill Showdown on Friday and Saturday, July 3-4.
The world’s premier Sprint Car drivers will sling the clay at the DCRP oval for two full nights with the Colorado Lightning Sprints joining in on both nights of action and Vintage Cars rounding out Saturday night’s card.
Advance tickets for the World of Outlaws Boothill Showdown are available online at http://dirtcar.ticketforce.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=129. Advance ticket combos for both nights are available for $75 for reserved seats and just $65 for general admission. Fans who purchase tickets in advance will also receive a free fan pit pass. Single day tickets are $45 for reserved seating and $40 for general admission. Children’s tickets (12 and under) are $10 per night in general admission seating only.
While defending Boothill Showdown winners Donny Schatz and Daryn Pittman continue their World of Outlaws championship points battle, it will mark the final Dodge City visit for the “King of the Outlaws”, Steve Kinser.
In the midst of his final full year of World of Outlaws competition, the 20-time series champion added a Florida win in February to run his career WoO total to 577 triumphs.
Two of those 577 Kinser victories have taken place at Dodge City Raceway Park, including the series first DCRP stop on June 22, 2004, and then most recently exactly eight years later on June 22, 2012.
Steve Kinser split Boothill Showdown honors with son Kraig Kinser, who bested the Showdown field on the final night of the 2012 double before Schatz and Pittman split honors last year.
With Steve Kinser currently ranked eighth in his farewell tour, Schatz holds a slim 27-point lead over defending WoO kingpin Pittman in the title chase with Paul McMahan and Joey Saldana remaining well within striking distance of the top spot as well.
Australian Kerry Madsen is currently ranked fifth in series points with the balance of the top ten including Brad Sweet, Cody Darrah, S. Kinser, K. Kinser and Sammy Swindell. Jason Sides, a Boothill Showdown winner in 2011, is just outside the top ten in points in 11th.
