Sarver, PA (July 10, 2014) After a two week hiatus, Fab Four Racing is back for another Fast Friday with all four divisions on the card and Budweiser Points on the line! Of course, with the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XXIII Twin 30s on deck next Tuesday, July 15, the Peoples TWP DIRTcar Sprints will be racing with some extra incentive on the line for Budweiser Points leader Carl Bowser and Jack Sodeman Jr. vying for a track provisional, while Mid-Season Brandon Matus who is already locked into the event. Sodeman trails Bowser by 17 markers heading into the race.
Defending Track Champion Alex Ferree leads the Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models into the event as the Budweiser Points leader over Russ King, Mike Pegher Jr. and John Garvin Jr. Of the four, only Garvin has yet to win in 2013; safe to say he is overdue! Speaking overdue, Brian Swartzlander is way overdue for his first Late Model feature win in the Detman #111 Late Model and getting closer all the time; he currently sits fifth in points.
As shocking as it may sound, Swartzlander is actually ranked higher in Late Model points than he is in the Diehl Auto Group DIRTcar Northeast Big Block Modified point standings! After an win on Opening Night, Swartzlander has struggled ever since and is just sixth in points. The Kings have dominated the division until recently as Dave Murdick has reeled off two straight wins. Rex King Jr. leads the points by seven over Murdick and also has two feature wins on the season. Rex King Sr. is currently third in points and has one win this season. Jeremiah Shingledecker and Mat Williamson are fourth and fifth in points respectively and each has a feature win to his credit.
The feel good story of the year so far is that fan favorite Jim Fosnaught leads Two-Time Defending Track Champion Corey McPherson in the Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman. Fosnaught has two feature wins already this season, while McPherson has three. Rob Shook has been the model of consistency and currently sits third in points despite not taking the checkered flag first yet this season. 2014 feature winners Mark Sanders and Terry Young round out the Budweiser Top Five.
This Friday is also Youth Sports Night as we welcome children and teenagers from our local communities that participate in little league baseball and softball, youth soccer, peewee football and every other youth sports that keep our most cherished race fans active and social! It is also Autism Speaks Night and our new friends from Autism Speaks will be on hand to share information, collect donations and raise awareness of Autism. FullyInjected.com Kids Club members are invited to color puzzle pieces, (the trademark symbol of Autism Awareness), that will be assembled later in the evening.
