Knoxville, IA — (Thursday August 7, 2014) – Daryn Pittman collected more accolades on Saturday afternoon from his international sprint car travels by winning the Speed Sport World Challenge on Saturday afternoon during the 54th Annual FVP Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway. Pittman took the lead from Tim Kaeding on lap 17 and never looked back.
“I’m just glad I didn’t stuff it into the back straightaway fence. The track was tricky, and the sun came out just enough there with that long break that the track just cleaned off a laid rubber,” said Pittman in victory lane. “Hats off to the track crew. They had their work cut out for them all week with the weather, and to have a day show and not lay rubber until the last race; the whole program was a great race.”
By virtue of his second place finish Kaeding gained the 25th stating position for the highest finishing driver on the podium for the World Challenge that did not have a starting spot secured for Saturday’s A-Main.
