– Chico, CA wheelman, Jonathan Allard, picked up his ninth win on the 2014 season on Saturday night as he made a rare visit at the Petaluma Speedway for weekly Pit Stop USA action.
“We had an awesome car, and it’s great to get back up here and celebrate a win,’ Allard said. “I’ve said it all Summer long, but this string of success is a testament to the great team that the Lamar family has surrounded me with.”
Kicking the night off in time trials, Allard timed his Tri-C Manufacturing/K&N/Redline Oil No. 3c machine in third fastest, before he went on to finish second in heat race action.
Lining up fifth in the feature event, Allard worked the immaculately prepared Petaluma Speedway with extreme precision, as he carved his way into the second spot, as the leaders found lapped traffic.
Chasing after a quick Bradley Terrell, Allard was able to make his move on the 13th lap, as he surged to the lead, and was able to stay out front in traffic, and pick up the popular win.
“It was a tough race, and I am glad we were able to come out on top,” he added. “I have to thank my guys for their hard work, and all of the fans for coming out. We have a huge race coming up in Watsonville, CA on Saturday night, and we are hoping we can keep this going.”
Friday night, Allard and company were in action at the Ocean Speedway for one final tune up for the Johnny Key Classic, and things did not quite go as planned.
Timing in eighth fastest, Allard would finish second in his heat race, just missing a post in the redraw, and would then find himself in the sixth row for the feature event.
Getting up to as high as the third spot, Allard had some issues late in the race, resulting in damage to his machine, and he would pull off with a 15th place finish.
“We had some pretty good speed at the Ocean Speedway on Friday night, as we have had all year, we just had a little bad luck,” he explained. “We are definitely looking forward to getting back down for the Key.”
