Indianapolis, IN — (May 19, 2015) — The torrid battle for the 2015 AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car title resumes this Saturday night as Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway salutes the Indianapolis 500 with its annual “Salute to Indy.”
The three series point leaders have accounted for victories in the last three “Salute to Indy” feature events. Damion Gardner won last year, Matt Mitchell won in 2013 and Mike Spencer won in 2012.
Spencer, seeking a record sixth series title, holds a six-point lead over defending champ Gardner in the latest standings. Mitchell stands third, thirty behind Gardner entering Saturday’s race.
Saturday’s feature race is 40 laps around the half-mile dirt oval located east of Los Angeles.
