Findlay, OH — (May 29, 2015) — Aside from the obvious excitement of the All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car series, a lot of surprises and entertainment await race fans returning for the re-opening of Millstream Speedway on Sunday night, May 31.
New promoters Randy and Lisa Hammer have been busy the past few months giving a “facelift” to the classic speedway. Additional lighting and speakers have been installed, supported by upgrades to the electrical service. The track surface has been rebuilt with additional dirt, the spectator bleachers have been repaired and repainted, and the construction debris that has long been the first greeting to visitors is gone. Many more upgrades are planned, both during the coming season and into the future.
Fans attending this week’s season-opening event will be entertained even before the first car hits the race track. From 1-4pm, the pit area will be open to fans with only a general admission ticket. Race cars, both vintage and current, will be on display in front of the grandstand, while veteran drivers will provide an explanation of the technical side of how they work and how they’ve evolved. Kids and adults alike will enjoy interacting with Lucky the Clown’s balloons and magic. Driver interviews, racing trivia, and lots of “bench racing” will also highlight the afternoon leading up to track action beginning at 6pm.
