Stockton, CA — (June 10, 2015) — With three events in the books in 2015 for the Wingless Series presented by Joe Hunt Magnetos, a red hot Joe Stornetta leads the field into Saturday night’s fourth event of the season set for the Stockton Dirt Track.
After winning a wild opening night event back in March, Stornetta backed the performance up a month later as he ran a very close second at the Calistoga Speedway.
As the series took an extended break, Stornetta continued to flex his muscle in the series’ most recent event at the Placerville Speedway on May 30th, as he currently sits atop the point standings by 10 digits.
While Stornetta steals the headlines in the early goings of the series’ campaign, Colton Slack too has had a very strong start to the season. Sitting second in the standings after a charge to second place at the Placerville Speedway in May, Slack is the series’ other feature winner after picking up a historical win at the Calistoga Speedway in the series’ first ever visit to the ½ mile speedway.
Sitting in third, just 13 digits out of the point lead, and three out of the second spot in Shane Myhre. With two top-fives to his credit in 2015, Myhre heads into the event at the Stockton Dirt Track on Saturday night with momentum from a hard fought podium finish at the Placerville Speedway two weeks ago.
Nick Larson and Gary Nelson, Jr round out the Top-Five in what is a very tight championship battle with just 21 points separating Stornetta and Nelson.
The Stockton Dirt Track has been an extremely racy venue in its first few years of existence, and Saturday night’s program is shaping up to be another great with as the Wingless Series Presented by Hunt Magentos share the spotlight with the King of the West Sprint Cars.
Other Wingless Series Presented by Hunt Magnetos drivers expected to be on hand are Klint Simpson, Angelique Bell, Bill Macedo, Zach Kavert, Kyle Standley, Cody Fendley, Shawn Jones, and many more.
