Civil War Series Heads Into Battle at Petaluma Speedway On Saturday Night

PETERSEN MEDIA

Placerville, CA- An extremely competitive California Civil War Series Presented by Flowmaster season will resumed on Saturday night as the series makes their second stop of the season at the Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night.

In what will be the sixth event of the 2015 season, Saturday night’s show will also act as the third and final qualifier race for the 55th Annual Johnny Key Classic that takes place in August at the Ocean Speedway. Should a driver not named Greg DeCaires or Andy Forsberg find himself or herself in victory lane on Saturday night, they will earn themselves a spot in the lucrative feature event.

Through six races in 2015, the series has seen six different feature event winners, and the driver who currently sits atop the standings (before the worst night is taken out), Justin Sanders, has yet to find victory lane with the series. With eighth wins to his credit already in 2015, Sanders will look to extend his lead, and build off of his podium finish at the track back in March.

During the series’ last visit to the speedway it was local product, Bradley Terrell, winning the feature event in dominating fashion. On the strength of the win and some a couple of other podium finishes scattered into his season, Terrell sits in the second spot tied with Robbie Price, just 28 digits out of the top spot.

The Civil War Series presented by Flowmaster was most recently in action at the Placerville Speedway back on May 30th. With Greg DeCaires dominating the event and earning a spot in the Johnny Key Classic, Shane Golobic and Sean Becker put on charges from deep in the field to land on the podium. Though DeCaires is not expected to be on hand, Golobic and Becker are two other drivers looking to keep their strong seasons going with the series as they both vie for a repeat win.

Saturday night will also see the series go against the tough Petaluma contingent that took two out of the three spots on the podium during the series’ last visit to the speedway. A driver that many are excited to see challenge the series regulars is the speedway’s most recent winner, Geoff Ensign, who is back aboard the Brett Lay No. 24B.

With the mercury continuing to rise over the state of California, Saturday night’s event is the perfect get away to enjoy some great racing, and cooler temperatures. Aside from the drivers listed above other drivers expected to be on hand include Koen Shaw, Andy Forsberg, Dominic Scelzi, Cody Lamar, Matt Peterson, Joe Stornetta, Jake Haulot, Herman Klein, and many more of the regions top drivers.
