Port Royal, PA — (July 21, 2015) — The amount and quantity of money and prizes up for grabs at this seasons Port Royal Speedway Living Legends Dream Race on August 8 has been announced and the list in sum total is one of if not the healthiest in the history of the event that began in 2007.
The total 410 sprint car purse alone eclipses $55,000 this year with another $2,500 in contingency money up for grabs to go along with a host of free product prizes totaling a value in the thousands including Hoosier tires, Penske Shocks, engine dynos, shock dynos, steering arms, bumpers, racing fuel, setup blocks and gift certificates to DMI, Zemco, Hank’s Performance Products, Wing’s Unlimited, Goshorn’s Racing Supplies and more.
And on top of the sprint car portion of the night, the super late models will make the Dream event even better this year with another more than $10,000 in purse money and contingency cash up for grabs.
All of this means that the total night is worth an amount nearing $80,000 to the racers that attend Port Royal Speedway for this year’s spectacle that honors veteran driver and car owner Scott Haus and Ed Powell, respectively.
A replica Beech Creek Motorsports/Rob Mapes No. 33super late model will be campaigned at the event by Haus’ son Andy, who currently ranks third in the Port Royal point standings.
And Powell will have a replica red No. 1H on display at the race as well.
The super lates will compete in a 21-lap feature paying $2,100 to win and $210 to start.
The 410 sprints will race in twin, full-purse, semi features with the top 10 finishers from each transferring to the big 35-lap Dream A Main.
Gates for the can’t miss event open at 4 pm with racing slated for 7.
Adult general admission is set at $27 with students ages 12 – 18 priced at JUST $7.
Despite constant increases in cost to the program, adult admission for the event has not been increased dating back to 2010.
