Colorado Motor Sports Park in Byers Colorado will host the United Rebel Sprint Series this Friday August 14th. The track is in its first year of operation has hosted some excellent shows for the fans and drivers alike. This Friday will be no exception as the 3/8’s mile oval host the Colorado Region of the United Rebel Sprint Series. The Colorado Region boasts a strong field of drivers from young hot shoes to veteran racers. The regions drivers include Coby Pearce, who won the first feature this year at the new facility, Mark Bensenberg, Kevin Schramek, John Jacobs, Scott Cochran, Bob Schaeffer, Brian Hardman, Adam Trimble, Clint Schubert, Butch Hardman and Mark Walinder among others.
Drivers from the Kansas region that plan on making the tow will include current Kansas regional points leader Zach Blurton, who has won three features including the Weatshocker Nationals, McCook Nebraska’s Nate Berry, who won the National event at Wakeeney Speedway this year, and last years URSS Rookie of the year, Jeremy Huish, is also planning on making the trip among others.
This Friday’s event will feature an expanded payout thanks to the help of Kevin Schramek of Schramek Landscape Materials who put an extra $1,000.00 into the purse. The event will pay $600.00 to win and $200.00 to start the A Feature. Hats off to Kevin for stepping up to the plate to help the URSS Colorado Region and Colorado Motor Sports Park to put on a quality show for the fans. The gates will open at 5:00 pm and the racing action starts at 7:00 pm. Joining the URSS Sprint Cars Friday Night will be Modifieds, Sport Modifieds, the Extreme 4X4’s and the RMLSA cars.
