Hanford, CA- Former Keller Auto Speedway Champion, Carson Macedo picked up an exciting win on Friday night with the Duinkerken Farms King of Kings 360 Series, while Ron Hurt, Nick Spainhoward, and Cody Laney also picked up wins.
Sharing the front row with Cory Eliason, Macedo would jump out into the early lead on the well-prepared Keller Auto Speedway surface. Macedo set a very nice pace as Cory Eliason and Ronnie Day chased after him.
With Macedo out front, the battle would heat up for the lead as Eliason pressured the early leader. On the sixth lap, Eliason would charge to the front and take command of the race lead. Eliason would lead the way for five laps until the caution flew and re-racked the field.
The restart would go in Macedo’s favor as he got back into the race lead as Eliason followed suit. While the battle up front waged on, Jace Vander Weerd was working his way forward from a deep starting position as he fund himself battling for a top-five position.
Macedo would check out from the field, before another caution flag flew just after the race reached the halfway point. This would be the break that Eliason needed as the duo would entertain the fans during the closing laps with a very entertaining battle for the lead.
Exchanging the lead back and forth, Macedo would hang on to the top spot while Eliason finished third, Vander Weerd would work his way to third, Craig Stidham third, and Michael Faccinto would round out the Top-Five.
In McAlister’s Auto IMCA Modified action, Cody Laney and Bryan Burnes would duel for the race win. When the checkered flag flew on the event, it was Laney earning the top spot, as Burnes finished second, Chad Reichenbach third and Brad Pounds fourth.
Nick Spainhoward continued his hot summer with the RaceChic IMCA Sport Mods as he held off Matt Mayo, Bryon Holder, and Kelly Wilkinson to grab another win with the division.
The IMCA Stock Car race again went to Ron Hurt as he was absolutely dominant on Friday night. Chasing Hurt across the line was Troy Patee, and Dylan Hagar.
ON TAP- The Keller Auto Speedway will take a late summer break before returning to action for the Jim Tuner Memorial on September 11th. On the card that night will be the USA/CRA 410’s, the McAlister’s Auto IMCA Mods, the RaceChic IMCA Sport Mods, as well as the Western States RaceSaver 305’s.
