Atlanta, GA – December 5, 2015 – 16 year-old Nick Snyder from Marco Island, Florida raced his way into the United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters history books during the 2015 season by becoming one of the youngest drivers to ever make a trip to the www.rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane after scoring a win in a USCS main event during their rookie year. Snyder finished third in the USCS National point standings en-route to claiming the series “Rookie of the Year” honors during a successful first season competing with the series. Snyder also claimed Fourth place honors in both the USCS Mid South Thunder and USCS Southern Thunder regional series Championships as well.
Snyder’s career-first USCS feature win came at Travelers Rest Speedway on May 8th. The Florida young gun wasn’t able to duplicate that performance, but, he did have two runner-up podium finishes at Diamond Park Speedway in Arkansas on June 26th and at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway on August 22nd. He had 15 top ten and 5 top five finishes with all of those on the podium in one of the top three spots during the series 31-race season. He also had 5 near top five misses by finishing in sixth place on five other occasions. Some of his success came from the fact he finished almost every single race and avoided too many rookie mistakes.
USCS Founder and President, Pete Walton stated that, “Nick Snyder really put on quite a performance as a young first year driver this season. Some of the things he did in 2015 were really impressive for a sixteen year old. But, he is just and impressive young man all of the way around and we are very proud to have him as our 2015 USCS sprint car Rookie of the Year. I look forward to seeing him progress in future years.”
Snyder used a J&J Auto Racing sprint car chassis with a Marshall Campbell power plant providing power to the USCS required Hoosier Race Tires on his #116 machine. Mike Snyder was his crew chief with Scott Ovenshire assisting.
