From Must See Racing
Holly, MI — (January 15, 2016) — The 2016 kick-off for the Must See Racing Sprint Series presented by Engine Pro is three months away, but series officials are hard at work preparing for a busy 2016.
The 2016 MSRSS schedule may arguably be its busiest to date. The series will contest sixteen dates in seven states over a sixth month stretch. The schedule also includes the special non-points 68th annual Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW-GM at Anderson (IN) Speedway on Saturday May 28.
The recently released schedule will see the series visit four new tracks for the first time in series history in 2016. Anderson (SC) Motor Speedway, Spitzer Motor Speedway, Shady Bowl Speedway, and Madison International Speedway will each host MSRSS events for the first-time-ever in 2016.
A national television package is expected to highlight the 2016 season and will be announced as soon as details are finalized.
The recently announced six-race “American Sprint Cup” has drawn tremendous interest from several southern teams who have committed to participate in all six races. Four of the six events will be contested in North and South Carolina. Regular Pavement Sprint Car racing has been absent from the Carolina’s in recent seasons and there is strong interest. In addition, MSRSS will pair with the USAC Eastern Midgets on four occasions in 2016 to give fans in the Carolina’s a chance to see a rare Sprint Car/Midget racing double header.
There is no doubt the 2016 MSRSS season is bringing renewed excitement to pavement sprint car racing with the recent MSRSS announcements. MSRSS has weathered the recent economic storm and better days appear to be on the horizon for the fledgling 410 winged pavement sprint car series.
Toledo, Ohio’s Jimmy McCune is the defending MSRSS champion and is expected to defend his 2015 title when the series opens the 2016 campaign at Anderson (SC) Motor Speedway April 15.
