SYCAMORE, Ill. (September 7, 2016) — The Mid-State Equipment /Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie Badger Midget Series season finale takes place Saturday Night Sept. 10 at the Sycamore Speedway. The event brings to a close the 80th year of sanctioning midget auto racing for the organization, oldest in the country.
The series will be part of the “Old Milwaukee Classic” which features: Super Late Models, Late Models, Pure Stocks, Modified compacts, and 4-bar late models.
Brandon Waelti clinched the Badger Midget Championship with his victory in Sunday’s “Kevin Doty Classic” at Angell Park Speedway. The series made their first ever appearance at the track on July 23. Rain showers after the conclusion of heat races before the feature, forced cancellation of the event. Twenty-three cars were present with Gage Walker, Brandon Waelti, and Robbie Ray scoring heat race victories. Practice begins at 6:00 p.m., with racing to begin at 7:30 p.m.
