TULSA, OK (January 12, 2024) — Defending Chili Bowl Nationals champion Logan Seavey made a pass coming to the white flag to win the feature event during the Hard Rock Hotel Casino, Tulsa Qualifying Night Friday at the Tulsa Expo Raceway. Seavey charged from seventh position passed Ryan Timms coming to the white flag for the victory.
Seavey driving for Kevin Swindell once again used patience through multiple caution flags before making his late race run through the field.
“I’m just really trying to be patient. I was actually to patient earlier and got myself in trouble in the qualifier,” said Seavey about his performance earlier in the night. “The other two got side by side in front of me and I knew eventually once we got a few green flag labs that I could get going, and when you’re on the top like that you need more than one at a time. We kept getting cautions and it was killing me. It kind of hurt me every every single time with their getting five to cross the line to get that split caution early, it really changes things. I’m just driving a good race car so I can be patien.t I’ve been doing it all year I keep saying it but I’ve been doing it all year at the Abacus guys. We started seventh and we picked our way through so I just never I never lose lose confidence. We knew that if we were in the race tonight we had a shot to win and we showed it>”
Timms held on for the final position to lock into Saturday’s Chili Bowl Nationals finale. Andrew Felker, Steven Snyder Jr, and Emerson Axsom rounded out the top five.
