It must have been Labour Day weekend,
because as usual, the weather forecast didn’t look good. However, this
year proved you can never trust a weatherman because there was great
weather Saturday night and even on a cloudy Sunday, with the hustle of
the great staff at Brighton Speedway, we still got all the racing in but
a few laps of the wingless race.
On a night that finally saw cooler weather after weeks of record heat, Tulsa’s Sean McClelland scored his third victory in a row in the Oil Capital Racing Series sanctioned “Sprint Car Super Show” at the Outlaw Motor Speedway tonight. Starting on the pole by virtue of his win in the five lap “Pole Dash” event contested earlier in the evening, McClelland immediately sped off from his starting point into turn one with second row starter Matt Sherrell rushing past outside front row occupant, 14 year old Colton Brewer for second.
Trail-Way Speedway has canceled for Friday August 9, 2011. The final Friday points race for the 358 sprints and limited stocks will be held at the Trone Outdoor 358 sprint championship.
Track championships were decided on Friday night as the Rochester Knighthawks helped close out the 2011 points paying portion of the schedule at Ohsweken
Danny Smith won the sprint car feature Friday night at Wayne County Speedway. Sam Hafertepe, Jr., Rob Chaney, Danny Mumaw, and Andrew Palker rounded out the top five.
Rain forced the postponement of Friday night’s Speedway Motor ASCS Warrior event at Valley Speedway. The event has been rescheduled for Friday night, October 7.
