Michaels’ Mercer Raceway

For almost 60 years, Mercer Raceway Park has been presenting exciting Saturday Night grassroots racing. As the 2010 season approaches, a full slate of door-to-door, mudslinging, in your face action on The Park’s tricky 3/8-mile bullring is once again planned.

Mercer Raceway Park will be returning to the Shenango Valley Mall for the second straight year to put on the “Thunder in the Park” race car show Thursday, March 18 through Sunday, March 21. Cars will enter the mall after hours on Wednesday night, March 17.

Sprint Cars have had a long and rich history at Mercer Raceway Park. The class evolved from the Coupes in the early 1960s, to the Supermodifieds in the mid 60s, and finally into the cars fans have grown to love in the ensuing years. Throughout those years, many classes have come and gone, but the Sprint Cars remain and will continue to be a big part of the upcoming 2010 season.

Mercer Raceway Park celebrated the 2009 season in grand style Saturday night, January 16, as the beautiful Normandy Banquet Center in Hermitage, Pa. played host for the seventh time to the annual awards banquet and dinner.
