Logan Forler overcame a rough couple of outings with the World of Outlaws at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., by capping the weekend with a victory at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash., on Sunday.
In his rookie season last year, the Puyallup, Wash., resident struggled when the World of Outlaws made their annual end-of-summer trip to his home state. He finished 11th in the B Main both nights at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash.
“They asked if I wanted to race the Big Game Treestands No. 1s at Huset’s,” he said. “I said yes and didn’t ask questions.”
After spending most of the summer in the Midwest and East racing against some of the best drivers in the country, Wheatley returned home with the World of Outlaws last weekend at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., and the Cottage Grove Speedway in Cottage Grove, Ore.
This weekend he is planning on heading to a trio of ASCS regional events in Missouri and Nebraska. Although he has three combined career races at the three tracks, it will be Tankersley’s second weekend outside his home state this season.
