USAC National Midget Championship
USAC National Midget Championship
In 83 previous USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship events held in Kansas dating back to 1957, never had a Kansas native won a series feature in his home state. Bryant Wiedeman changed that statistical fact during a green-white-checkered restart on Wednesday night during the 12th running of the Chad McDaniel Memorial at the Mitchell County Fairgrounds in Beloit, Kan.
Buddy Kofoid was keen on winning a USAC Indiana Midget Week feature in which he felt he earned, no ifs, ands or buts about it. On Thursday night at Putnamville’s Lincoln Park Speedway, the Penngrove, Calif. native made that priority number one during round four of the series at the 5/16-mile dirt oval.
On occasion, one man’s misfortune is another man’s good fortune. That was certainly the case during Monday night’s second round of USAC Indiana Midget Week at Circle City Raceway in which three different drivers led the last full lap they completed in the feature.
For Zach Daum, Saturday night in Belleville, Kansas was a homecoming. In the summer of 2014, the Pocahontas, Ill. native captured a USAC National Midget feature victory on the Belleville High Banks half-mile dirt oval during a Belleville Nationals prelim night.
