NASCAR star Kasey Kahne will battle the World of Outlaws Sprint Car superstars on June 16 at Missouri State Fair Speedway in Kasey’s King of Sedalia Presented By Budweiser — the biggest night of racing in the Sedalia half-mile’s history.

While Knoxville Raceway will always be his home track, Jackson Speedway in Minnesota is a home away from home for Terry McCarl, especially since he has been driving for a Minnesota-based team for the last couple of seasons.

With nine races in the books for the World of Outlaws in 2010, the season is shaping up to be another of the best in series history, following the closest-ever three-way points race in 2009, that saw Donny Schatz edge Jason Meyers by a mere 19 markers with Joey Saldana who led the series in wins third.

Joey Saldana had successful surgery today on his broken left hand in Indianapolis to insert 10 screws and a plate to help regain full range of motion, following a very hard crash last Saturday night at Volunteer Speedway after getting caught up in a chain reaction accident after an early race red flag.

Cody Darrah received the best medicine he could over the weekend as he continues to recover from a broken left leg and that was to be at the race track with the entire Kasey Kahne Racing squad including his car owner Kahne himself.

Following a very busy month and a half to open the 2010 season that took the World of Outlaws from coast-to-coast and six different tracks, most of the teams on the tour have returned to their shops to prepare for the heart of the season, which will begin on April 10 with the series inaugural visit to Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma.

At Kasey’s King of Bulls Gap Presented By Budweiser Friday at Volunteer Speedway, Kasey Kahne and World Racing Group officials announced the four-race Showdown for the Bud Crown featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will conclude on July 8 with Kasey’s King of LaSalle Presented By Budweiser at LaSalle (Ill.) Speedway outside of Chicago.

Another King at the track: ” The King” Richard Petty was in attendance on Friday night at Volunteer Speedway for the opener of Kasey’s King of Bulls Gap Presented By Budweiser.
