From Mike Leone

After three great nights to open up the 2010 season at Mercer Raceway Park, Mother Nature reared her ugly head for the second straight week on Saturday. Rain showers started around noon and with the forecast of more rain later in the day and evening the decision was made to cancel the night.

Coming up next Saturday, May 1 will be a full show of Luxaire Heating & Cooling Sprint Cars, Approved Toilet Rentals Modifieds, 4 Your Car Connection FASTRAK Late Models, Big Daddy’s Speed Center Stock Cars, and the M&D Paving Mini Stocks.

It’ll be Free Shenango Valley Night presented by Flynn’s Tire & Auto Service and Froggy 95. All residents of Sharon, Hermitage, West Middlesex, Sharpsville, Farrell, and Wheatland will be admitted free into the grandstands. It’s also Mahoning Valley Scrappers Night with tickets to the Scrappers game on July 18 to the first 1,000 people. Race time is 7 p.m.
