WILLIAMS GROVE RAINED OUT ON FRIDAY EVENING JULY 8

From Williams Grove Speedway

MECHANICSBURG, PA–The racing event scheduled for Friday evening, July 8, at Williams Grove Speedway has been cancelled.

With rain falling throughout much of the day, and severe thunderstorms forecast for the evening hours the decision was made to cancel the scheduled program for sprint car and 358-sprint racing.

This marked the seventh weather related cancellation of a sprint car race at Williams Grove in 2011 and the first since May 27.

The Saturday Night Series will return to the Grove on July 9 at 6:30 with the 358-late models going topless for this special event. The popular stock cars will use time trials to set lineups and their portion of the program will be highlighted by a 30-lap feature event. The super sportsman cars and street stocks will also be on the card.

Sprint car racing will return to Williams Grove on Friday, July 15, when an Outlaw Tune Up will be presented. The 358s will also be on the card. The qualifying format for the sprint car portion of the program will be similar to that which will be used by the World of Outlaws for the Summer Nationals coming up on Friday and Saturday, July 22-23.
