Returning to action with the World of Outlaws over the Memorial Day weekend, Tim Kaeding scored a ninth place finish on Monday night at the Lawrenceburg Speedway following a disappointing 15th place finish in Charlotte, NC on Friday night.

“We would of hoped for some better finishes, but it is really hard to judge anything on Friday night, the track was blowing dust in hotlaps, and we just didn’t hit it in qualifying,” he said.

On what was a very dry, and dusty surface for the entire night at the Dirt Track in Charlotte, NC, Kaeding timed his Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle backed entry in 14th quickest.

With a 28 car field on hand, the three-heat format was utilized, and TK was on the outside of the heat race inversion, putting him fifth in the first heat.

On the track that was relatively hard to make up ground on due to the conditions, TK would record a fifth place finish, and put the Moibil1/FK Rod Ends/Weld Wheels machine into the feature event.

“All night we tried to make our car better, but the way the track was, it seemed like everyone was scratching their heads, and really struggling.”

Lining up in the 14th spot, Kaeding wasn’t able to get moving forward, as he would simply maintain in the feature event as he would tally a 15th place finish when all was said and done.

Taking a few days off, the Roth Motorsports team was back in action on Monday night at the Lawrenceburg Speedway, again against the World of Outlaws.

With 37 cars on hand for the Memorial Day event, Kaeding timed in eight quickest, putting him in the second row of the fourth heat.

Kaeding got off to a rocky start, and slipped back in the field during heat action, and salvaged a fifth place finish, putting him in the feature, but he would miss out on the dash.

“It’s tough to not capitalize on a good heat starting spot with the World of Outlaws,” Kaeding said. “Their dash is so important, and to not finish in the top two starting third, really hurt, but we have a great team, and I knew we would have a car able to move forward.”

Starting in the 13th spot, the San Jose, CA driver got his Roth Motorsports No. 83 machine on the high-side of the track, as he gained valuable positions, as he waited for the top to come in.

Gaining four positions in the feature event, TK would close his holiday weekend out with a ninth place finish.

“I have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for sticking behind us, and giving us a chance to come out and do what we love. My guys have been working hard all year, and we’ve been running strong, so hopefully we can grab another win next week.”

Tim and his Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle,  Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2013.
