Quincy, MI – (June 7, 2014) – Sometimes in motorsports it pays to be lucky than good. Danny Holtgraver proved to be both on Saturday night in route to victory with the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions Saturday night at Butler Speedway. Holtgraver inherited a front row starting position after outside front row starter Doug Zimmerman was penalized for jumping the start. The same thing happened earlier in the night during Holtgraver’s heat race that put him on the front row of that race as well. Holtgraver then held off repeated challenges through lapped traffic from Chad Kemenah for the victory.
“This is awesome. We have been really up and down lately and tore a lot of stuff up,” said Holtgraver after race. “I feel bad for the car owner; we’ve been in bad situations more than not and to finally put everything together was great. My guys worked their butts off and gave me a great race car.”
After the initial start was called back for Jac Haudenschild stopping in turn four and Zimmerman’s jump Holtgraver jumped into the lead. Inside front row starter Lee Jacobs and Chad Kemenah in tow. Midway through the race Kemenah was able to squeeze by Jacobs for second during a restart and was catching Holtgraver in slower traffic until Holtgraver slid through the lapped cars and opened up some distance between himself and Kemenah. Even a restart with five laps to go was not enough for Kemenah as Holtgraver motored to victory. Kemenah held on to second with Jacobs, Dale Blaney, and Caleb Helms rounding out the top five.
