Port Royal, PA — (September 23, 2014) — Just 34 days remain until the heralded return of the STP World of Outlaws sprint cars to Port Royal Speedway, on Saturday, October 25 at 5 pm.

The October 25 show will be the first of its kind at the track in a decade for the national touring band.

The Port Royal event will be the final appearance on Pennsylvania clay by perennial outlaws champion Steve Kinser of Bloomington, Ind., as a full time touring professional with the outlaws.

“Port Royal has the greatest fans anywhere and they’ve really supported us and come back to us over the last three years as we all have worked together to make Port Royal the kind of venue that can now host the World of Outlaws again,” noted Port Royal promoter Steve O’Neal earlier this season.

The World of Outlaws too are excited to be getting back to Port Royal.

“Some of the most passionate sprint car fans anywhere in the world are in Pennsylvania, so we’re looking forward to bringing the Outlaws back to Port Royal for the first time in 10 years,” said World of Outlaws CEO Brian Carter just after finalizing the date on paper.

“The fans have been asking to see the Outlaws at Port Royal for a long time. We’re very excited to return and expand our schedule in Pennsylvania.”

The most recent World of Outlaws show at the track took place back in 2004 when Donny Schatz took the win over Daryn Pittman, Lucas Wolfe, Steve Kinser and Kraig Kinser.

To date in Port Royal and World of Outlaws history there has been a total of seven World of Outlaws events held at Port Royal Speedway.

It wasn’t until 2001 that an outlaws pilot graced the Port Royal winner’s circle when Danny Wood took the victory.

Local Lynn Paxton took the first ever outlaws show held at the track back in 1979.

Other Port Royal World of Outlaws winners have been Jason Meyers, Brad Furr, Doug Wolfgang and Don Kreitz Jr.
