ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprints Tennessee Bound To Crossville and Duck River

TULSA, Okla. (September 7, 2016) The Lucas Oil ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprints are back in action this weekend with a pair of nights in Tennessee with Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tenn. kicking things off on Friday, September 9, followed by Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, Tenn. on Saturday, September 10.

The debut trip for the Lucas Oil ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprints to the Crossville Speedway, the history pages show the one-third mile high-banked oval has seen ASCS action before. Dating back to July 3, 1998, the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network held one event at the Tennessee oval. The race was won by Tony Wilson of Paris, Tennessee with Phil Gressman and Danny Wood making up the podium.

For Duck River Raceway Park, Saturday’s trip to the second of the season as Derek Hagar topped the field on April 30 ahead of Marshall Skinner and Steven Russell.
Down to the final three events, including this weekend’s Tennessee double, Michael Miller continues his march towards back-to-back Lucas Oil ASCS/SOS championships, holding a 64 point advantage over Kyle Amerson, who picked up his first win with the series this past weekend in the rain shortened Emerald Coast Nationals at Florida’s Southern Raceway.
Following a 13th place performance this past weekend, Shane Morgan, who has slipped to third in tour standings, now trails by 100 markers with Joey Schmidt and Tristan Lee making up the top-five. Swapping spots in standings with Lee, Mississippi’s Ryan Moore is now sixth with Brandon Blenden, Timmy Thrash, Marshall Skinner, and Derek Hagar making up the top-ten.
Friday, September 9, at Crossville Speedway, the Lucas Oil ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprints will be joined by RWD Mini Stocks, Sportsman, Mod Lites, and Dwarfs. Admission is $20. Hot Laps begin at 7:00 P.M. (CDT). Fans who attended the Crossville the week before can get $5 off at the front gate if they bring their ticket stub from September 2, 2016. Saturday, September 10 at Duck River Raceway Park will get underway at 7:00 P.M. (CDT). Support Classes will include Late Models, Crate Lates, Modified Street, Pure Pony Stocks, Street Stocks, and Dwarf Cars. Like Crossville, fans who bring their ticket stub from last week’s racing action will get $5 off at the front gate. Admission is $20.
