REGIONAL MIDGETS HEADED FOR COLUMBUS, OHIO MAY 15

By Dick Jordan

The 2010 USAC Regional Midget calendar expanded today with the announcement of a May 15 race at the Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway.

The race will officially open the series, which is also slated for events at the Indianapolis (Ind.) Speedrome, Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich. and the Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway.

Kyle Hamilton of Danville, Ind. won last year’s USAC Regional Midget title and his 2010 accomplishments included winning the USAC National Pavement Ford Focus championship race at CMS. He also finished second in last September’s JEGS Crown “Alex Pruett Memorial” National Midget race at the 1/3-mile paved oval.

The Nuckles Family, eight-time Auto Racing Promoter of the Year nominees and the 2009 award winners, operate CMS and have hosted numerous USAC events through the years.

“We have always had a warm welcome at CMS and our participants enjoy racing on the challenging track,” says USAC Developmental Series Director James Spink. “We look forward to opening this year’s campaign there and expect a very competitive race.”
