ROSSBURG, OH (April 13) – While most of the competition at Eldora Speedway is on the race track the battles shift indoors on June 10, into the Eldora Ballroom with the 5th annual Ms. Eldora Speedway pageant.
On that night, the sovereignty of reigning queens Abby Hoffert and Megan Spink, along with alternate Abby Pfleiderer, will draw to a close and a new court will be determined.
The pageant, which gets underway at 7:30 PM, includes three phases of modeling, in various forms of dress, by the applicants, along with impromptu questioning and the presentation of a prepared speech. Each of these phases is scored by a panel of celebrity judges, with the outcome announced that evening.
In addition to representing Eldora Speedway in victory lane, the winning queens participate in trade shows and assorted other appearances. A cash prize of $2,000 awaits the top vote getter, while the runner-up receives $1,000 and the alternate collects $250. The winning girl will also receive a pair of tickets to view the 2011 Indianapolis 500 in Tony Stewart’s (Eldora track owner) private suite.
Applications and event guidelines may be downloaded from the speedway website www.eldoraspeedway.com, or applications may be mailed by calling the track office at (937) 338-3815 during normal business hours.
