ASCS Sprints and Fastrak Late Models invade Sharon Speedway for Memorial Day

HARTFORD, Ohio (May 25, 2010) – The American Sprint Car Series and Fastrak Late Models tour invade Sharon Speedway on Saturday, May 29. The night will also feature Pro Stock and Hobby Stock Racing.

The Oldies Night scheduled for the May 22nd Saturday 6 PAK will be held Saturday. Gates will open at 3 P.M. Saturday for a car cruise-in with a DJ. There will also be a hula hoop contest at intermission with a prize for the winner.

Tickets are $13 for adults, $5 for children ages 9 to 13 and free for those younger than 8. Anyone dressed in 50s attire will receive a $3 discount on admission. Racing will begin at 6 p.m. Parking and camping at Sharon Speedway are free.

Following an exciting night of racing action on May 22, Friday Night Thunder will run again on June 4 with gates at 5 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. The night includes Micro Sprints, Mod Lites, Sportsman, 2 bbl E-mods and Hobby Stocks in action.

Winners of the May 22 event included Josh Walker in Sportsman, Dwayne Clay in 2 bbl E-mod, Alan Knepper in Mod-Lites, John Shannon in Hobby Stocks and Joe Sanger in Micro Sprints. Walker and Clay also picked up in features made-up on May 22 from May 7. Other winners in features from May 22 include Pete Blazak in Hobby Stocks and Tracy Fritter in Mod-Lites.

Tickets for Friday Night Thunder are $10 for adults. Fans who present a ticket from Friday Night Thunder will receive $3 off general Admission for the next day’s 6 PAK Saturday.

6 PAK Saturday will resume June 5, with Governor Insurance Agency Big Block Modifieds autographs. Tickets for the Saturday 6 PAK series are $13 for adults ages 14 and older, $5 for teens from ages 9 to 13 and kids 8 and under are free. Family passes, for two adults and up to four students, are available for $32. June 5 will be Trumbull County School night, with students showing their report cards admitted free.

Tickets are also available for the All Star Late Models and Tri-State Modifieds event on June 8 at Sharon Speedway that will bring out NASCAR drivers Dave Blaney, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace.
