The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders will be ready for some short track action when they return to the Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois this Friday night, June 25. This will mark the series’ thirteenth official visit to the banked ¼ mile oval in their history.
Jerrod Hull flexed his muscle and showed his prowess at the bullring in May by taking his third career Sprint Invaders feature win at Jacksonville. Other winners at Jacksonville have included Joey Montgomery, Terry McCarl, Tim Montgomery, Jesse Giannetto, Robbie Standridge, Kaley Gharst, Josh Schneiderman, CJ Houseman and Russ Hall.
The point race is heating up with the warmer weather, and Matt Sutton has taken the lead by just three markers over two-time series’ champion, “Flyin’” Ryan Jamison. Jim Moughan Jr. is third in points, just 16 behind the leader, and will be looking to make up ground at a track close to home on Friday. “Showtime” Kaley Gharst dominated at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa the last time the Sprint Invaders ran, and he has silently worked himself into the fourth position, ahead of Donnie Steward.
This will be the Sprint Invaders last June meeting, before embarking on four straight County Fair dates in July. On Saturday, July 3rd they will run at the West Liberty Speedway, followed by dates at the Bloomfield Speedway (Thursday, July 8), the Lee County Speedway (Friday, July 9) and the Cedar County Speedway in Tipton (Thursday, July 15).
The Sprint Invaders would like to thank Green Chevrolet of Jacksonville for sponsoring Friday’s Shake-up Dash!
Grandstands at Jacksonville Speedway will open at 5 p.m., with adult general admission seats going for $15. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow. For more information, visit www.JacksonvilleSpeedway.com!
