Brownstown, IN- July 11th, 2010- Officials at Brownstown Speedway are gearing up for one of the biggest events in the history of the speedway, as the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Cars roll into town on Thursday night July 15th. It will mark the first time that Brownstown Speedway will host a leg of the ultra popular USAC Indiana Sprint Week presented by Arizona Sport Shirts/Gotta Race. Fans from all over the United States and even from out of the country will converge on the famed 1/4 mile located at the Jackson County Fairgrounds to enjoy the action of the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Cars and the MMSA Mini Sprints. Drivers such as Levi Jones, “The Peoples Champ” Dave Darland, “The Bullet” Bryan Clauson, Tracy Hines, “The Modern Day Cowboy” Daron Clayton, Jerry Coons, Jr., and countless others will be on hand to vie for the $5,000 first prize. The “Winged Warriors” of the MMSA Mini Sprints will provide companion action to make it an all open wheel evening, as they compete in a $1,000 to win feature event.
USAC Indiana Sprint Week is a week long affair throughout the state of Indiana, providing dirt track motorsports entertainment at different tracks. Lawrenceburg Speedway hosted night one of the grueling marathon on Friday night July 9th, with Dave Darland picking up the win, cabbaging on John Memmers misfortune. Memmer led the first 24 laps before bowing out with motor woes. The series moved to the Gas City I69 Speedway in Gas City, Indiana on Saturday night July 10th where Jon Stanbrough decimated the field, leading the entire distance in the process. On Sunday night July 11th, Kokomo Speedway held round three, with Levi Jones taking the lead on a lap 19 restart en route to picking up the win. The remaining schedule will see the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Cars at the Terre Haute Action Track on Wednesday night July 14th, Brownstown Speedway on Thursday night July 15th, Bloomington Speedway on Friday night July 16th, and finishing out at Tom Helfrich’s Tri State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana on Saturday night July 17th.
The USAC Amsoil National Sprint Cars made an appearance at the Brownstown Speedway back on May 3rd, 2008. 44 Sprint Cars signed in with Levi Jones taking the win in an exciting feature event over Brady Short, Dustin Morgan, Robert Ballou, and Tracy Hines. Jon Stanbrough, Ballou, Jerry Coons, Jr., and Cole Whitt took heat race wins with Hud Cone winning the B-Main.
