Mighty Midgets of the BCRA lead night of topless racing action Saturday

PLACERVILLE, CA (8-7-10) – A night of wild wingless racing action is coming to the El Dorado County Fairgrounds this Saturday night as four divisions of racing will grace the clay banks of Placerville Speedway. The mighty midgets of the Bay Cities Racing Association are returning to Placerville this weekend along with the Midget Lites, the Wingless Sprint Cars of the Hunt Magnetos Wingless Shootout Series and the always exciting Nor Cal Dwarf Cars.

As the Midgets return to Placerville Speedway it will be a very special day of racing for the historical organization as they will their annual Jack London Bash and Hall of Fame Picnic at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds and Hall of Fame Inductions. The event takes place on the lawn area of the El Dorado County Fairgrounds and tickets for the picnic are available by visiting www.bcraracingonline.com.

Among entries received so far are 2008 BCRA Champion and current point leader Nick Foster Jr. in the #1 Beast/Esslinger owned by 2008-2009 BCRA owner Champion Jim Fowler. Nick won the April race at Placerville this year. Joining him will be 2nd place in current standings Dillon Silverman driving RAM Racings #12 Spike/Ecotec. Dillon’s best finish this season with BCRA was a 2nd at Chowchilla Speedway in June and 3 wins at Silver Dollar Speedway with the ASCS Pacific Midget Division. Others attending will be 7 time BCRA Champion Floyd Alvis in his own #83 Stealth/Chevy, 2009 BCRA Champion David Prickett in the #15 Neverlift Motorsports TCR/Van Dyne, 2 time winner this year Greg Bragg in Dave LaMott’s #0 TCR/Honda, 2 time winner this year Shannon McQueen in her own #7 Spike/Esslinger, 1999 BCRA Champion Matt Streeter in his own #14jr Spike/Chevy, June Chowchilla winner Jimmy Sills in Dave Thurston’s #17 Spike/Esslinger and March Chowchilla winner Scott Pierovich in Lance Pierovich’s #35 Spike/Wirth Mopar.

Also expected is Randi Pankratz in Wally Pankratz’s #8 Edmunds/Fontana, Lonnie Alton in Lana Alton’s #5a Stealth/Ford, Sean Dodenhoff in his own #9d Spike/Fontana, Danny Parker in Bob Roza’s #28 Stealth/Esslinger, Rob Lindsey in the Lindsey Motorsports #23 Ellis/Pontiac, Steve Dickenson in his own #99 Edmunds/Pontiac, Rick Young in RAM Racings #14 Spike/Ecotec, Jeff Perry in his own #28 Ellis/Pontiac and Chris Ennis in Calvin Martins #97 TCR/Esslinger.

Joining the Midgets will be the Midget Lites of the Bay Cities Racing Association along with the firebreating sprint cars of the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Car Series. In this division look for recent Placerville winner and current series point leader Terry Schank Jr. of Santa Rosa to lead the roster.

Schank will look to hold off Chico’s Taylor Simas Saturday night as they continue their battle in the Shootout point standings. Johhny Reeves is currently third in the ranks over Timmy Sherman Jr and former two time Placerville Speedway champion Billy Wallace.

The colorful coupes of the Nor Cal Dwarf Car Association will complete the roster on Saturday night. In this division look for all the regular top runners of this exciting class to bring their side by side racing to the quarter-mile clay oval.

The grandstands at Placerville Speedway will open at 5 p.m Saturday night Qualifying starts at 6;30 followed by racing at 7.
