3 WESTERN TITLE HOPEFULS EYE OCTOBER 30 LAS VEGAS MIDGETS

By Dick Jordan

Only 14 points separate Cory Kruseman and Alex Schutte in their battle for the 2010 USAC Western Midget championship, which resumes October 30 at the Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway Bullring. Robby Josett, also in the championship hunt, trails Kruseman by only 23 points entering the next race.

Josett finished fifth in Saturday night’s 30-lap race at the Ventura (Calif.) Raceway, while Schutte was 10th and Kruseman 17th, tightening the point race.

Brad Loyet of Sunset Hills, Mo. made a rare appearance at Ventura Saturday night and made it count! He led the last 23 laps in his Loyet Landscape Maintenance/Meramec Heights Collision Center Spike/Esslinger Ford to win the 30-lap USAC Mopar Western Midget race after passing Josett on lap eight. Johnathon Henry finished second ahead of Randi Pankratz, David Prickett and Josett.
