Crawley wins Gumbo Nationals USCS Sprint preliminary win

Greenville, MS – November 5, 2010 – Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas continued his winning ways at Greenville Speedway on Friday night by collecting a hard fought win in the United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear Gumbo Nationals preliminary feature race. Crawley drove past early race leader Lee Sowell from Nesbit, Mississippi on lap six of the 20-lap contest and led the field the rest of the way home in his Ward racing Boatersports #88 sprint car. Crawley is a two-time Gumbo Nationals Sprint Car Champion.

2006 USCS Rookie of the Year, Derek Hager from Marion, Arkansas charged in to the runner-up spot at he finish followed by Sowell in the third position. Cody Gardner and Justin Sturch, both from Benton, Arkansas rounded out the final two position in the top five.

2009 USCS Rookie of the Year, Justin Carver from Drummonds, TN was sixth at the finish, followed by Greg Wilson from Benton Ridge, Ohio was seventh. Marshall Skinner from West Memphis, Arkansas finished eighth followed by defending USCS Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee and 2008 USCS Rookie of the Year, Anthony Nicholson rounded out the top ten drivers.

Action kicks off in the 4th annual Gumbo Nationals 2010 at Greenville Speedway on Saturday night with hot laps at 5pm and the first race at 6:00 pm sharp. Action includes the a complete USCS presented by Goodyear racing format including the 30-lap $2500 to win winged sprint car Championship and finales in all divisions.

Those division include the Super Late Models 40-laps $5000 to win, Nesmith Crate Late Models 30-laps $2000 to win..plus $1000 to win Street Stock and Mini Stock Championship finals. The Greenville Speedway FWD Stingers will also be in action with their heat races and feature.
