GREENVILLE, Miss. (Nov. 8, 2010) – Sooner or later they’ll change the podium stage used for the Gumbo Nationals at Greenville Speedway. The new stage will have a spot for the runner-up, another for the third place finisher and the tallest step will have Tim Crawley’s name on it.
Crawley won the Nationals for the third time in the four-year history of the event, winning both the preliminary and feature main events. The Gumbo Nationals are part of the United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear schedule.
Goodyear is the presenting sponsor for the USCS as well as the official tire supplier. The line of Goodyear Eagles tires used by the USCS competitors come from the same line of tires supplied to the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series as well as weekly sprint car programs at tracks all over North America.
Crawley won the preliminary feature, a 20-lap event around the quarter-mile oval. Derek Hagar took second, followed by Lee Sowell, Cody Gardner and Justin Sturch. Crawley also won the Goodyear Speed Dash.
On the second night of the event, Crawley passed Hagar on lap seven to get the lead and went the remainder of the distance without losing the top spot. Greg Wilson made it close at the end, finishing second by about half a car length. Hagar was third, followed by Terry Gray and Don Young. Justin Carver won the Goodyear Speed Dash.
The 2010 USCS season concludes next weekend.
