A flat tyre robbed Danny Reidy of a solid result during last Saturday night’s $10,000 to Win Spring Nationals at Sydney Speedway (NSW).
After he had started from position 16 in the Spring Nationals feature race, Reidy had worked his way inside the Top 10 only to suffer a flat tyre and was therefore forced to disappointingly retire.
“It was a tough night on a tough track,” commented Reidy, who had earlier in the night finished ninth and second in his two heat races. “We had made a bit of progress there in the feature race after we had moved into the Top 10, but then I suffered the flat tyre and it ended my run there and then.”
Last Saturday night’s Spring Nationals event was Reidy’s final hit-out before the World Series Sprintcar (WSS) Championship kicks off for the 2010/11 season and he is excited about this Saturday night’s (November 20) opening round at his home track, Brisbane International Speedway in Queensland.
“We’ve had some pretty good runs at Brisbane in recent seasons and hopefully I can start off my World Series campaign on the right foot,” the Queensland based racer expressed. “The goal for World Series is to run as consistently as possible and if we can achieve that then there is absolutely no reason why we couldn’t run somewhere in the Top 3 of the point standings.”
Reidy would like to thank Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs, Camden Neon Signs, P & M Motor Body Repairs, Gonzo’s Race Pipes and Inglis Race Engines for all their ongoing support throughout the 2010/11 season.
