Port Royal, PA. – Just over a week remains to purchase tickets for the annual Port Royal Speedway awards banquet, slated for January 8. Tickets are currently selling briskly at a price of $30.00 each and will remain on sale until December 31.
The banquet will be held at the Port Royal Community Building, located along 4th St., just off of the speedway’s backstretch.
Doors for the ceremony will open at 6 p.m.
Those in attendance will see the crowning of the 2010 track champions including Chad Layton, 410 sprints; Scott Haus, late models; John Heane, pro stocks; Jason Davis, enduros; and Jen Powell, powder puffs.
Anticipation is building for the event that will introduce the newly hired PRS Promotions team of Steve O’Neal, Shawn Brouse and John Krall. The trio took the reins of racing at the oval in November and since that time has been busy assembling a 2011 racing schedule as well as an itinerary for upgrades and changes to the historic facility and its racing programs.
A number of changes to the track, racing programs and speedway grounds are expected to be announced at the banquet as well as highlights of one of the most exciting schedules that the speedway has seen in recent memory.
Orders for banquet tickets may be placed by phone between the hours of 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays by contacting the speedway office at 717.527.2303.
