Alissa Geving to make full run at Civil War Sprint Car Series in 2011

From Bill Sullivan for Chicko Motorsports

PENNGROVE, CA (1-7-10) – Nineteen year old Alissa Geving and her Chicko Motorsports team have announced their preliminary racing plans for the upcoming 2011 racing season. This year Geving will return to the series in which she has always had a passion for competing within, the Hoosier Tires Civil War Sprint Car Series.

“Last season was a great experience for my team and myself racing in the 410 series for the whole year but this year I want to get back to racing in the series I really love, the Civil War Series,” said Geving. “This is a very competitive series that will keep us a bit closer to home in these current times and I’m really looking forward to coming back.”
Back in 2008 Geving earned the Rookie of the Year title in the Civil War Series. It was that same year the third generation open wheel driver became the youngest female sprint car titlist in the nation when she claimed her first of two consecutive titles at her home track of Petaluma Speedway at just 16 years of age.
After claiming her second title, Geving toured with the Golden State Challenge Sprint Car Series in 2010 for the entire campaign. The effort was Geving’s first full season of 410 sprint car racing and she capped the season off with an impressive fourth place finish in the series standings and claimed the Rookie of the Year honors in the campaign.
The effort marked her third Rookie award of her career, adding to her Petaluma and Antioch Speedway awards earlier in her career. In addition to the championship titles Geving has garnered the Paul Tyler Rising Star Award from the Motoring Press Association, has participation in the NASCAR Drive for the Diversity and the nationally recognized Chili Bowl in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In 2011 the Civil War Sprint Car Series will compete in 14 total races at some of the best known tracks throughout Northern California while permitting drivers to still compete at their local tracks for weekly championship campaigns. In addition to the Civil War Series Geving plans to compete in select events at Petaluma Speedway.
“My main focus will be the Civil War Series this year,” added Geving. “When we aren’t running with that series we will likely be racing close to home. I’m looking forward to seeing the local fans more often this year and spending time with the family and less time on the road.”

Currently, Geving is seeking sponsorship for the 2011 racing season. In 2010 Chicko Motorsports had a great group of marketing partners that made their efforts possible. Among those sponsors in 2010 were Tillett Tool, Pit Stop USA, Auto Repairs Unlimited and Matt Cordeiro Enterprises. Additional associate sponsors and promotional considerations included K&N Filters, Napa Auto Parts, Flowmaster Mufflers, Hodgin and Son Tree Service, Allstar Performance, Santa Rosa Auto Parts, Simpson Racing Products, 21st Century Health Club, Vanlare Steering Repair, Pro Shocks, ALC Machine and JW Web Design.
