The World of Outlaws returned to Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, Mississippi on Friday for the first time since 2007 as they embarked on a busy stretch of four races in three states in the upcoming week.
With 24 competitors signed into the pit area at the 3/8-mile track, Dollansky piloted the Big Game Treestands #7 to the 13th fastest time in qualifying with a time of 14.354 seconds. Missing the heat race inversion by only one position meant Dollansky would have to start fifth in the first heat race. In the 10-lap heat race the Karavan Trailers Maxim would finish 5th and shift all attention to the main event.
In the 35-lap A-Main, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ would start inside the seventh row and after a couple of cautions in the first three laps he raced his way up to the seventh position. When the green flag brought the field back up to speed, Dollansky fell victim to the next caution as he looped the Aggressive Hydraulics backed sprinter on lap four. After restarting at the tail of the field and a couple more cautions bunched the field up, Dollansky worked his way up to eleventh by lap 29 when the red flag flew for a fuel stop. With only six laps remaining, Dollansky was able to race past Donny Schatz and salvage a top ten finish.
Following the racing in Mississippi, the Big Game Treestands #7 team will travel west to Texas when racing resumes on Saturday at Royal Purple Raceway, formerly Houston Raceway Park.
