TULSA, Okla. (May 4, 2011) – A pair of ‘TBA’s on the Smiley’s Racing Products ASCS Gulf South Regional slate have been filled to make for a pair of three-night holiday weekends of racing action.

A Memorial Day event has been added at Beaumont’s Golden Triangle Raceway Park, with a Fourth of July weekend card added at Sterlington, Louisiana’s USA Speedway.

The three-day Memorial Day weekend swing will now kick off Friday night, May 27, at Golden Triangle Raceway Park before moving on to the Gator Motorplex in Willis, TX, on Saturday night and then to Lufkin’s Speedarama Raceway on Sunday night.

Then, the next holiday weekend fires off with a first-time visit to Louisiana’s USA Speedway on Friday night, July 1, with the Gulf South’s first stop at Mississippi’s Jackson Motor Speedway to follow on Saturday and then a return to Chatham, Louisiana’s Jones Motor Speedway on Sunday.

With the added pair of events, the 2011 Smiley’s Racing Products ASCS Gulf South slate consists of 28 scheduled nights of competition at eleven different tracks throughout Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

With the initial six nights of competition plus one rainout in the books, Fort Worth’s George White holds a mere one-point lead over perennial Gulf South title contender Tommy Bryant with two-time and defending series champion Ray Allen Kulhanek 97 points off the lead pace in third after missing two early feature cuts.

Next on the slate before the Memorial Day triple is a pair of mid-May events at Golden Triangle Raceway Park on Friday May, 13, and then the first stop of the year at Edna’s Texana Raceway Park on May 14.
