Reidy’s Pleasing Finish to 2010/11 Season

Although a win would’ve been nice, Danny Reidy was pleased with his second place behind Robbie Farr in the Crispy Memorial over the weekend at Brisbane International Speedway to conclude his 2010/11 season.

The NT # 5 Desert Palms Resort – Alice Springs supported Eagle driver started the feature race from pole position by virtue of winning the ‘Dash’ and paced the field for opening 10 laps before he was passed for the lead by eventual winner Robbie Farr.

Despite his best efforts, Reidy didn’t have an answer for Farr and for the remainder of the feature race maintained his second place all the way through to the fall of the chequered flag, which was a pleasing way for him to end the 2010/11 season.

“Farry [Robbie Farr] caught us in lapped traffic and in the end just he just had too much for us,” admitted Reidy, who had earlier in the night qualified sixth in time trials and then finished third and sixth in his two heat races. “Second place is still a strong way to wrap up the season and we can now work towards getting ready for next season.”

In the meantime, Reidy will step away from his Speedway activities and turn his focus on preparing for next month’s Finke Desert Race in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. Further information about Reidy’s quest in this event, where he’ll compete in the ‘Buggie’ class, is to come later this month.

Reidy would like to thank Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs, Titan Plant Hire, Camden Neon Signs, P & M Motor Body Repairs, Gonzo’s Race Pipes and Inglis Race Engines for all their support throughout the 2010/11 season.
