AKRON, Ohio (May 9, 2011) – Joey Saldana won the only race of the Outlaw Thunder Weekend presented by Goodyear at Eldora Raceway and Craig Dollansky earned his second win of the season when he collected a victory at Salina (Oklahoma) Highbanks Speedway in World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series action.
Goodyear is the Official Tiremaker of the Series and other touring sprint car programs. In addition, Goodyear supplies weekly sprint car programs around the country.
Saldana’s win at Eldora gave him the top spot in the championship standings. He has 1,987 points. Steve Kinser is second with 1,936.
Sam Hafertepe Jr. finished second at Eldora, followed by Donny Schatz, Paul McMahan and Greg Wilson. Chad Kemenah had the best time in qualifying, averaging 137.007 mph around the half-mile track.
The second race of the weekend at Eldora was cancelled by weather.
Dollansky’s win was his second of the season. He also set the quickest time in time trials with a lap of 105.271 mph.
Schatz finished second in the race, followed by Kinser, Daryn Pittman and Sammy Swindell.
