ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPRINTS AT SLC SATURDAY

The USAC Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint cars return to Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah this Saturday and a former series champion will be the target after his victory in the series opener last Saturday.

Ryan Burdett of West Jordan, Utah, the 2007 series titlist, led the final 25 laps of Saturday night’s race. He took the lead from Mike Murgoitio on lap six and led the rest of the way in his FRB Welding/Harrison Chiropractic Wysong/Klein.

Murgoitio took second ahead of Mel Andrus, Paul Marconi and Johnny Geisler.

Burdett’s lead stands at seven points over 2009 series champion Murgoitio.
