It’s not very often that Craig Dollansky and the Big Game Treestands #7 team race close to home. Saturday was an exception however as the World of Outlaws returned to Princeton Speedway, a 1/4-mile located just minutes away from the Craig Dollansky Racing shop, for the first time since 2008 as ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ returned to the seat of the Aggressive Hydraulics #7 following last weekends sweep in North Dakota.
With 26 cars signed into the pit area, Dollansky was the second car to qualify and turned a lap of 11.146 seconds which was 6th fastest. The strong qualifying effort would put the Karavan Trailers Maxim inside row two for the third and final heat race where Dollansky worked his way past Jason Meyers for second early on. The #14 and #7 battled for the second position all race long with Meyers putting a big slidejob on Dollansky in the final corner to steal a position in the dash by a slim two feet.
In the 40-lap A-Main, the Aggressive Hydraulics #7 lined up in the eleventh position. When the green flag dropped much of the 24-car field raced around the cushion with Dollansky positioned in tenth when a caution came on lap 27. Another caution came on lap 33 and on the restart the Elk River, Minnesota native got a great jump to work past Kerry Madsen and Joey Saldana and assume the seventh spot before the last stoppage came with five laps to go. ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ would close in on teammate Sammy Swindell but ran out of laps to make a move as he crossed the line in 7th.
The World of Outlaws continues a long stretch of short track racing as they head to Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota on Sunday, June 26th.
