– Park City, Kansas – July 18, 2011 – Current series points leader C.J. Johnson of Quinter, Kansas will lead the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Smiley’s Racing Products sprint car division to the Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, Kansas this coming Saturday night for the third of four appearances on the season and will look to continue his quest for his second career series championship.

The series last visited the three-eighths mile oval back over Memorial Day weekend for the annual Steve King Memorial where Jack Dover picked up the Friday night portion of the event while Brady Bacon claimed the Saturday night championship finale.

Although shut out of victory lane thus far this season, consistent top ten finishes has kept Johnson out front of the point standings and by virtue of finishing four positions better than Garry Lee Maier after this past weekend’s Hutchinson Grand Nationals, has opened his advantage from just 45 points to 95 points entering this weekend.

It has been quite a diverse season for the NCRA sprint car series as seven different drivers have reached victory lane in the eight events that have been held thus far on the 2011 race season. Of those seven drivers only Maier and Peters, who are in the top ten in the point standings, have reached victory lane.

Drivers who have claimed series victories are Lasoski (2), Ryan Roberts, Dover, Bacon and the most recent feature winner, Jordan Boston who claimed this past Saturday nights 55th annual Hutchinson Grand Nationals in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Gates for this event, billed as the second annual “Open Wheel Classic,” will open at 5:00 PM with racing set for 7:00 PM. The Great American Dirt Track is located six and a half miles south of Jetmore on the east side of US 283. For more race information contact the speedway offices (620) 385-0551.
