EDMONTON, Alberta (Aug. 30, 2011) – Cody Darrah held off two of the world’s best to win the Oil City Classic World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series race at Castrol Speedway.
The Classic was the second event in a two-night event at the Canadian track. Jason Meyers won the opener.

Darrah’s two-day effort netted him the Oil City Cup championship and was the second WoO victory of his career. He had to hold off the efforts of both Brad Sweet and 20-time WoO champ Steve Kinser over the second half of the race. Sweet was second on Saturday, followed by Kinser, Chad Kemenah and Paul McMahan.
Meyers broke the four-year old track record during time trials on opening night and then passed McMahan on the 18th lap and went on to win. Donny Schatz took second, followed by Lucas Wolfe, McMahan and Jason Sides. McMahan was the only driver to record top-five finishes in both events.
